sunkissed

We've had such a lovely few days here that any time I haven't spent working or at college I've been at the beach enjoying the sun. I managed to take some pictures on one of the only days it wasn't warm enough for bare legs, a casual look with my favourite jeans and plenty of jewellery of course!

cowboys and indians

Once agin I apologise for my blogging absence. Living in Valladolid has, for some reason, left me feeling unispired fashion and style wise. Everyone in the city dresses immaculately, with simple timeless pieces. Living there I began to emulate this style, buying more basic pieces and eventually finding myself dressed head to toe in black. While I thought this was just the evolution of my style - maybe I was finally growing up? - I've realised that it was more a lack of inspiration and, on my part, trying too hard to fit in. I wasn't happy with this blog and was even tempted to delete it for a while, feeling a complete lack of inspiration.

Returning to Dublin I found myself staring at people in the street and manequins in shops lusting after their clothes and longing for a more unusual and colourful style. I love the way I used to dress and it made me sad thinking that I've changed my style so much in such a short space of time! From now on I'm going to try to be more true to my own style, and hopefully the coming warmer months will make that a little easier. Being back in Dublin also made me really excited to be living back there in September! Sorry for the rant, but you can look forward to seeing some more playful and fun looks like I used to post back on here! :)

goodies.

ASOS gold choker

ASOS high waisted black jeans
Vila boyfriend jeans
For some reason I've always hated turtlenecks and the people who wear them. Now I'm not sure if I'm delerious from exams, or if I just do not have the power to resist a trend, but I've been desperately wanting one for some time now. My first exam was yesterday, and I wanted to treat myself to some retail therapy today. Feeling too lazy to go into the city, I decided to have a little look online. Everything I wanted without even getting out of bed or having to speak Spanish to annoyingly slow sales assistants- why don't I do this more often!? Even better, ASOS have an amazing 48 hour deal at the minute: 25% off for students until 9am tomorrow, so hurry and get your fix before it's over! Also their free shipping gets me every time. I went a little overboard, but these are all things I need*. Expect some upcoming (possibly 90s themed) outfits with these beauties.

belated birthday goodies

I got such a lovely surprise this morning when the postman rang the doorbell and told me there was a package for me. I ran downstairs in my pyjamas to see these lovely gifts that my friend Bronagh had sent me for my birthday! I love the pattern of the scarf, and the little orange clutch is perfect for adding a pop of colour to winter clothes! The little earrings are so cute as well- I love any jewellery!

I decided to wear all my new presents today; I couldn't wait! So I styled them with this lovely navy shirt dress from French Connection layered with New Look and second hand necklaces, an of course my trusty brown leather Zara boots.

Thanks Bronzie! :)

turquoise treasure

I was in Seville last weekend with my boyfriend, and got this lovely necklace in a sweet little market there. It was amazingly only €5 and is my new favourite piece of jewellery! The silver cuff is from Pull & Bear, and the sheer top is second hand.

Some pictures of Seville coming soon. It was quite warm there so the pics will be a little more colourful and summery than the outfits I've been posting recently!

autumn jewels

My mum and sister came to visit this weekend, and I got this lovely Zara jacket as a birthday present from my Grandad (hint: he didn't pick it out). I love it so much and it's really complimented by the autumn colours in this picture and the fallen leaves all over the city. And, since most of my clothes are black, I can wear it all the time! I've wanted a baroque print jacket like this for ages and I love the way it fits as well. The gold chain is from Primark and the heeled shoes are Topshop.

I'm wearing my new lipstick as well, 'starry eyed' by Rimmel. I think the colour ties in well with the rest of the outfit and is a great colour all round for Autumn!

The last picture is of a gorgeous little bracelet my sister made for me for my birthday. I love the jewel tones of the beads. What a great addition to my already oversized jewellery collection!
